Privacy Policy
Our apps exist to protect your privacy — so it would make no sense to undermine it. This policy explains exactly what we do and, just as importantly, what we deliberately never do with your data. It applies to both of our apps: SecurePath VPN for Android and Fortress VPN for iOS.
01Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how SecurePath VPN ("SecurePath", "we", "us" or "our") handles information in connection with our mobile applications — SecurePath VPN for Android and Fortress VPN for iOS — our websites and related services (together, the "Service"). It applies to everyone who downloads, installs or uses the Service.
By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service. This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service.
02Our No-Logs Promise
Privacy is the entire point of a VPN, and it is the foundation of how our apps are built. We operate a strict no-logs policy. Specifically:
We DO NOT track, store, or monitor your browsing history, traffic destinations, data content, or IP addresses. The traffic that passes through the VPN tunnel is yours alone.
Because we never record this information, we have nothing to expose in a data breach, nothing to sell to advertisers, and nothing meaningful to hand over if we receive a legal request.
03What We Never Collect
To be unambiguous, while you are connected to the VPN we do not log, record or store:
- Your browsing or DNS request history
- The websites, services or destinations you connect to
- The content, files or data transmitted through the VPN tunnel
- Your originating ("real") IP address or the VPN IP assigned to your session
- Connection timestamps tied to your identity, or session duration logs used to profile you
- Bandwidth logs that could be used to monitor what you do online
04What We Do Collect
To keep the apps stable, secure and free to use, a small amount of operational information may be processed. This is never linked to your online activity inside the VPN tunnel.
a. App performance & diagnostics
We may collect anonymous, aggregated crash reports and performance metrics — such as app version, device model, operating system version, and whether a connection attempt succeeded or failed. This helps us find bugs and improve reliability. These diagnostics do not reveal what you do online.
b. Advertising identifiers & app analytics
Our apps are free and ad-supported. Advertising and analytics partners may process app-level data such as advertising identifiers, app events, and approximate (coarse) location for ad relevance. Consistent with our store privacy declarations:
- SecurePath VPN (Android): may process location (approximate), app info & performance, and device or other IDs. Data is encrypted in transit, and no data is shared with third parties beyond what is required to serve ads.
- Fortress VPN (iOS): identifiers, usage data and diagnostics may be collected as described in its App Store privacy label; this data is used for advertising and app functionality and is not linked to your identity beyond those declarations.
These advertising and analytics partners operate only at the app level. They do not have access to your VPN traffic or browsing activity, which remains encrypted and unlogged inside the tunnel.
c. Support communications
Our apps are completely free and require no account, sign-up or payment, so we hold no billing, subscription or payment information about you. If you choose to contact our support team, we keep the email address and the messages you send us only for as long as needed to respond and help you.
05Third-Party Services
We work with a limited set of providers to keep the apps free and reliable. Each operates under its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review them. The categories below summarize how each is used.
| Category | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Analytics & crash reporting | Stability, diagnostics, product improvement | App events, device & OS info, instance identifiers |
| Advertising networks | Serving the ads that keep the apps free | Advertising ID, ad interactions, coarse location |
| App stores | Distribution via Google Play and the Apple App Store | Store account & install data, handled by the store |
The specific advertising partners authorized to sell our ad inventory are listed in our public app-ads.txt file. These partners may act as independent controllers of the limited app-level data they receive. To repeat the key point: none of them can see inside your encrypted VPN tunnel.
06How We Use Information
We use the limited information described above strictly to:
- Operate, maintain and secure the VPN service
- Diagnose crashes, fix bugs and improve performance and stability
- Display and measure the advertising that keeps the apps free
- Respond to your support requests and communicate important service notices
- Detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse or security incidents
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
Where we rely on consent (for example, for personalized advertising), our legal basis under the GDPR is your consent. Otherwise we rely on our legitimate interests in running a secure, reliable and free service.
07Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers: with the categories of third parties listed in Section 5, solely to provide the functions described.
- Legal requirements: if required by valid legal process. Because we keep no activity logs, we cannot produce browsing history, traffic data or originating IP addresses — there is simply no such data to disclose.
- Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you and any successor will remain bound by this policy.
- With your consent: for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time.
08Data Retention
We keep information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Anonymous diagnostic data is retained in aggregate. Support correspondence is kept for as long as needed to resolve your request and a reasonable period afterward. Because we do not log your VPN activity, there is no browsing or connection history to retain or delete.
09Security
We protect your connection with strong encryption, and all data transmitted through the apps is encrypted in transit. We apply industry-standard safeguards to our systems, but no method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of your information
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent at any time (for example, for personalized ads)
- Request a portable copy of your data
- Not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within the time frame required by applicable law. Note that because of our no-logs design, we often hold very little — or no — personal information about you to begin with.
11Advertising Choices
Our apps are free, and non-intrusive ads are what keep them that way. You can limit personalized advertising at any time:
- On Android: open Settings → Privacy → Ads and select "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalization".
- On iOS: open Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking to control tracking, and Apple Advertising to limit ad personalization.
- Within the apps, adjust your advertising and consent preferences at any time where offered.
Opting out of personalization does not remove ads, but it limits the data used to tailor them. We do not sell your personal data, and we honor recognized opt-out signals where required by law.
12Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
13International Data Transfers
We operate a global service, and the limited information we and our providers process may be transferred to and stored in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
14Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we make material changes, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
